Hmm. Well. It's not a priority, but I can't see the harm in it. We may run into qorral later, you never know. [ and it'd be a lovely bargaining chip. ] Why?
There's a young girl [he thinks??] offering her skills. Apparently, she can create inorganic matter out of own lipids once she's analyzed the chemical make-up. I told her we've already done what we can for the Qorral's benefit- they'll have to manufacture their own with our sample and instructions as their guide.
Buuuut... I didn't think there was any harm in seeing if she can give us a sample we can keep.
I wouldn't call it that... [well... he's not wrong, though.]
I told her you'd give her the data, since this is primarily your project, so she'll probably be contacting you. I'm actually curious to see if this will even work.
Agreed. [ and he sounds suddenly a little thoughtful; he's not considering synthetic argecite anymore. ] That could be quite a lot of time and supplies saved.
You do not feel any unease over the idea of open hostility against a potentially developing species of robots? I know they are not like your kind. But they are closer to my own.
I don't tend to feel any unease over the idea of open hostility against something that started it first. I'd recommend you do your best to get over any unease, too.
I would like to know what their states of mind are. Having intelligence does not mean having awareness. But regardless, they are a threat to innocent lives. Do not worry in that respect. I will not go easy on them.
If they are moving and thinking, they have life and memories. If they are able to understand their own existence, then they have a soul. My point is that you cannot find that information out by looking inside of their head.

She wants to be useful. We have other work to do. I figure it benefits all of us.

A pity errand. I can't argue with that.

You know as well as I do that is not going to tell us of their cognitive state.

[He doesn't particularly like this, but it's probably the best he's going to get.]
Agreed.
